Create and edit screenshots of web pages

Filed in: ,
Normally, most of us takes screenshot of a web page by using ‘Print screen’ key of the keyboard (may be different with keyboards). But its functionality is limited. We can’t take a full web page screenshot or can’t highlight a particular area in screenshots.

FireShot is a Firefox extension that creates and edits screenshots of web pages. It integrates with Firefox and provides capturing both entire web page and only currently visible area.

Unlike other extensions, this plug-in provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly, modify captures and insert text and graphical annotations. Such functionality will be especially useful for web designers, testers and content reviewers.

Screenshots can be saved to disk (PNG, JPEG, and BMP), copied to clipboard, e-mailed and sent to external editor like MS Paint for further processing.

To capture a web page, note a tool button located at the top-right corner of Firefox browser. Simply press it when you want to capture the contents of your currently opened web page. Select ‘entire page’ or ‘visible area’ before capture. You may also right-click the contents of the web page and use "Take Screenshot of this Page" menu item for taking web page captures.
