This hack might help if your optical driver isn’t being detected. This hack is applicable if your drive disappears after you uninstall some programs or after various programs installed or upgrade. In case it wouldn’t hurt to try it. You will need to restart to see your drive again.
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\
Contolpanelset\Control\Class\
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Delete the key themselves. You will need to reboot to see if you have had any luck after that.
Important: Back up your registry before do anything with registry.
