MRI is a free cross browser tool like X-Ray that lets you test selectors with any web page. Selectors, particularly complex ones can be difficult to get exactly right - MRI lets you experiment with them on any web page - static or dynamic.
Just bookmark the tool. Load a web page fully, then load MRI and enter a selector (e.g. li a) to test.
MRI currently works with Safari 2/3 on Mac OS, Mozilla browsers (Firefox/Camino) on Windows and Mac and Internet Explorer 6+.
