Flickroom - a desktop application for Flicker

Flickroom is an Adobe Air based desktop application for managing Flickr account. It acts just like a browser but gives a richer browsing experience and its dark theme ensures your photographs look even better than before.

You can receive instant notifications for any activity on your photostream, upload photos by just drag-and-drop, add comments, mark faves, add notes, tweet about your photos and also chat with other Flickroom users.

Following are some of the important features of this application:

Adobe AIR based Icon Generator

Clockmaker is a very simple icon generator based on Adobe integrated runtime (AIR). This icon generator creates only two types of icon - Photoshop CS3 icons and popular Web2.0 star icon. And the icon is generated in PNG format; you may require other services to convert it to another format such as ICO. However you can select any color for the icon.

Share your documents with Adobe Share

Adobe’s Share beta is a web-based service that allows you to upload and share files. You can share your documents online, send documents without e-mail attachments, embed your documents in WebPages and access your documents from anywhere with Adobe Share.

You can distribute the URL for the file to a selected number of users, post the link for the URL on a website, or embed the code for previewing the file in a web page. You have the option to allow recipients to invite others to view your shared files or limit access to only the specified recipients.

Using Share enables you to upload and share large files with others without attaching the files to an email message. Users have access to the latest version of the files through Share. It also enables the recipients to preview PDF, JPG, GIF, and PNG files using the web browser before downloading them.

Adobe Integrated Runtime - AIR

Adobe launched a public beta of ‘Adobe Integrated Runtime’ (AIR) on 10 July (Before it was referred to by its code name of Apollo) and targeting the second half of 2007 for the release of Adobe AIR 1.0.

The AIR is a cross-operating system runtime being developed by Adobe that allows web developers to build and deploy web applications to the desktop. AIR is targeted at developers who are currently leveraging web technologies, such as Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript and Ajax techniques to build and deploy rich Internet applications.

AIR allows applications to be built using Flash, Flex and HTML , JavaScript or a combination of both. Flash based applications will be able to include HTML based content, and HTML based applications will be able to use Flash based content. In addition, Adobe AIR applications can integrate closely with PDF documents. AIR application is free to download and use.

Explore, Create and Share Color Themes

Creating your own color themes and share with others or use for your own project is interesting with Kuler.

Kuler is a technology preview from Adobe Labs. It helps you explore, create and share color themes for your creative projects. Use it as an on-line application or download themes to use with Adobe Creative Suite applications.

There are several ways to create a new theme. Click ‘Create’ shown at the left side of the screen. The default theme shows a set of colors that follow the analogous color rule.

You can make color themes either by changing all the colors together by moving the color markers around the color wheel, selecting another color rule or selecting the custom rule and use the color wheel or the sliders at the bottom of the screen to adjust colors independently and numerically.

You can add title, tag or description etc to your theme and publish to share with others. You can also search color themes of others by tag, title or by hex color values by entering the hex value in the search field (e.g.: FF0000).

Adobe recently announced the release of Adobe Digital Editions (1.0) available for free download to Windows and Mac users. The application provides a new way to read and manage e-Books and other digital publications.

The main interface provides two main views, reading view and library view. Reading view lets you read e-book, while library view allows you manage all your e-book collections.

Digital Editions works online and offline, and supports PDF and XHTML-based content as well as Flash SWF for rich interactivity. You can view books in thumbnail or list view by title, author, publisher, etc and books can be viewed in double or single page views and can be enlarge any portion of the page for more reading experience.
