Firefox Tricks

In Firefox typing keyword in the main address bar by default searches Google. But the default setting is to use the ‘I am feeling lucky’ option. To change this to general search result, do the following change in firefox. This is also applicable to other search engines like Yahoo, Live or Ask.com.

Type about: config in address bar and press enter. Scroll down to ‘keyword.URL’. Double click on it (or right click and select modify). Change, any of the URL you like, as shown below. For example, the URL for Google general search result is http://www.google.com/search?&q=, enter this for Google or enter any of the following.

Yahoo - http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=

Ask - http://www.ask.com/web?l=dir&o=ffx&q=

Live - http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=
